All About Me and interior-decorating-diva.comHi, My name is Marie Grabo and I'm all about interior decorating! I decorate in my sleep! Any one else do this? I became fascinated about interior decorating because of my mom, she had a great eye! I loved to help her decorate. I can remember rearranging rooms in our house and changing my bedroom around a million times. She put up the FUNKIEST wall paper for me. Boy, did I think I had the coolest room! She bought me a red telephone to match and I was just tickled Pink! Remember the Princess phones? I'm dating myself! I remember not liking the show "The Honeymooners" because I didn't like their apartment. (Don't hate me, I'm just a diva!) Same was true for "Archie Bunker". I couldn't stand their furniture! I still can't watch the reruns. What can I say, I'm a diva and I like all things pretty! Scroll down to see some of my professional interior decorating work ... Life is too short to have the place you wake up in everyday be UGLY! I'm not the only one who thinks so, read what Ty Pennington says... I subtly realized the affects of interior design and decorating back then, but it wasn't until I married and built a home that I got back in touch with that decorating diva.(Curious to know what my style is? I'll tell you later.) So, we built a little starter home in Branford, CT and I started designing and decorating... I was determined to make the most of my small little humble abode and turn it into my castle. We didn't have a lot of cash flow so whatever I did I had to learn to do myself. I became addicted to decorating magazines and HGTV. The decorating era was just beginning then... As the rooms came together I began to realize the passion I had about interior decorating. Anyone who came over admired my work, so I started helping friends with their houses... I decided to go into business, so I signed up with the Sheffield School Of Interior Design to learn as much as I could about interior decorating and later I started this website partly to help satisfy the teacher instincts in me and share my knowledge and experience about interior decorating with intent to inspire, and empower, and also to... take my business to a new level. I'm working towards staying home with my kids more.

We've been here for 13 years now and it's still not finished, it's still evolving. I've come to the realization it will always be a work in progress and that's OK with me because I'm always evolving too! Anyone with me on this? What Do I Love Most About Interior Decorating? I get the biggest high from transforming a space that was an ugly duckling, or a plain Jane, into something beautiful because I know I've transformed it's occupants as well. I know I've touched their lives and made them less stressed and happier people. I've added richness to their lives. I live for that! MY PET PEEVES My biggest pet peeve is when a women tells me she has to wait for her husband to paint, or hang the picture,... or "I don't have the money to hire a painter", or "I can't do this or that because I don't know how". So they wait and wait for their husbands to get to it or to have enough money, or... to hire someone else to do it and meanwhile their souls are suffocating because they wake up everyday and see that undone project! My Motto IF I CAN ANYONE CAN,so MOSTLY this site was created with the intent to enable and inspire the do-it-yourself decorating diva in you! If you're stuck in the "I need to wait for my husband" mode, or you don't have enough confidence to do-it-yourself, then I'm the gal you want to talk to! Need Help getting started? My Colors are warm mostly, but I love blue too. And I'm really drawn to patterns that are blue and green lately.
