Choosing Window Treatments

I have lived in my house for 7 years and just put up window treatments last year!!! And I hate them!! It is so hard for me to pick out something I like. If I take a picture of my living room, will you be able to give suggestions of what would look good?'

The diva's Reply: Hi Anne, thanks for posting your question, and in response I have to say I like your drapes.

I think your frustration is due to their lack of function. I'm assuming you're in need of light control and/or privacy. When you close them they probably don't look good and are difficult to close. You have a few options:

1. You can purchase more of the same draperies (need to double the size of the window in width measurement of the drapes) for fullness when opening and closing.

2.Attach the drapes to rings and clips so that they will slide easily for you.

or

3.Use shades or blinds for privacy and light control and leave the drapes stationary aka Dummy Panels.

I recommend the latter using a fabric Roman shade:
