My Super Cheap Crown Molding Trick
A super simple inexpensive way to add crown molding to your home is to use to pieces of inexpensive molding stacked on top of each other to give the look of one whole piece. Crown molding can be pricey. The thicker it is, the more expensive. In my bath I used prefinished cove molding and prefinished backband molding (anything flat will work. Play around with different pieces to get the desired thickness and look you like.
You could even put a piece up to the ceiling and leave a thick space of wall, then place a piece of half round or anything thin. This will give the appearance of one large piece once it's all painted the same color. The eye won't be able to see that it's not one large piece of crown molding I used the two piece trick in my master bath and it came out fabulous.
