The Secret To SUPER SIMPLE Crown Molding DIY!

Crown Molding DIY for Powder Room

Nothing finishes a room like crown molding! It adds so much character, and It's easier than you think to do, and I have a super simple secret to crown molding diy made easy.

OK so whats the big secret?

The SECRET to crown molding diy is to use USE CORNER PIECES so you don't have to make the miter cuts.

I get mine from Lowe's Home Improvement. They sell inside corners as well as outside corners so all of your cuts are just straight cuts and the pieces just butt up to each other. Check out these corner blocks at Lowe's

My Recommendations to even more simple crown molding DIY:

1. buy wood already primed or if staining do so before hanging.

2. measure twice ,cut once

3 rent a nail gun

4. add wood glue to the back of your pieces before hanging and nailing

5 caulk the joints and above and below the pieces and the nail holes.6. sand the caulk, wood putty or Spackle

My Super Cheap Crown Molding Trick

A super simple inexpensive way to add crown molding to your home is to use to pieces of inexpensive molding stacked on top of each other to give the look of one whole piece. Crown molding can be pricey. The thicker it is, the more expensive. In my bath I used prefinished cove molding and prefinished backband molding (anything flat will work. Play around with different pieces to get the desired thickness and look you like. crown molding DIY picture Different Moldings Foe Crown Molding DIY You could even put a piece up to the ceiling and leave a thick space of wall, then place a piece of half round or anything thin. This will give the appearance of one large piece once it's all painted the same color. The eye won't be able to see that it's not one large piece of crown molding

I used the two piece trick in my master bath and it came out fabulous.
