Furniture placement in dining and family room

I plan to use the great room as the dining room since it is right off the kitchen, and the living/dining room as the family room where the TV will be. * the plan is to have a round dining table in the great room since it is right off the kitchen (or do you think we are best going with a rectangular dining table). I saw a gorgeous round table with a 74" diameter but that might be too big? We also will add a pantry in the kitchen and at the moment will leave the eat in space as is. * we also plan have an L shaped sofa in the great room with the TV placed on the wall (garage)> we will find out if the builder can delete that 36 high capped wall separating both rooms. If that is the case how do we separate both areas? * We also plan to insert a TV niche in the garage wall so the TV is flush with the wall and not sticking out.
