I couldn't make a whole website for interior decorating without mentioning my beautiful, quaint, coastal town of Branford ct , where I live, work, and get so much of my inspiration for interior-decorating-diva.com and Marie Grabo Designs Coastline in the town of Branford Ct

One of the many great things about the town of Branford Ct is that it's such a short jaunt to New Haven. So when I'm looking for culture, great architecture, shopping, museums, and a big city experience (big as in relative to Branford :-) ), I'm in New Haven, Ct in 15 minutes! Branford rests between Ct towns East Haven and Guilford and I love that I could drive the shoreline from East haven and just keep going, cruising one scenic New England town after the next.

The antique shopping "finds" on these trips are fantastic and so is the scenery! I love "Taken For Granite in Stoney Creek, Home Dujour, and The Village Shoppe, to name a few... great for finding just the right one of a kind piece to add character to a room or for when your decorating on a budget. The town of Branford Ct has so much charm, it was established in 1644. The town center is reminiscent of its history with old world style lanterns lighting main street, and its brick lined sidewalks. In the Spring there is a cacophony of white blossoms everywhere from the Flowering White Pear trees that bloom throughout the town green and Main Street. At least I think that's what they are, please correct me if I'm wrong,whatever they are, it's something to see!

You will find Arts and Crafts, Federal, and Queen Anne styles of architecture scattered throughout the town.

The town green is just as quaint as it could get! I just love the white Congregational church with the bright red doors, don't you!

P.S.Stationers, Branford Card and Books, Fine Linens And Bath, just to name a few, are filled with unique accessories for your home.

I get lot's of inspiration from these shops by paying attention to the displays and vignettes, but I also get tons of home decorating inspiration in the least likely places like restaurants, Ice cream parlors, coffee shops, nails salons, clothing boutiques, and would you believe athletic gear stores, and even the town hall! There are so many great restaurants in the town of Branford! If You know me, or have read my "about me" page you'll know that "great" to me doesn't mean just great food, but great decor and ambiance as well! I don't know about you, but I'm in my glory when the restaurant decor is gorgeous, the food is delish, and if the Ladies room is gorgeous too, well, you know I'm coming back for more!!! Does food taste better in a pretty restaurant, or is it just me? Here are a few of my favorites...Mango's, Pasta Cozi, Dar Bar, Yooki Yama, Foe, Assaggio, just to name a few. We have a wonderful coffee shop, Common Grounds right on main street, with welcoming outdoor seating, and inviting sofas and seating arrangements inside. It's never easy to leave once I'm there. It's such a nice experience sipping on my cappuccino while admiring the art from different local artists.This place drips with home decorating inspiration! I just love the art! My favorite is Brenden Laughlin's, a Guilford artist who once had a gallery here in Branford.

Wilson (the owner, the java man,lol) rotates the different artists each month so it's always fun to see something new. You could do this in your home as well. Maybe rotate your art from season to season. There are many beautiful winter scenes but they don't look as appealing in the Summer months, so just change them out! See, inspiration is everywhere! I love looking at the real estate in my town of Branford Ct and can never pass up an open house or a model unit- so much home decorating inspiration to be had! The best Realtor in Branford just happens to be my good friend Nancy Orlando. Nancy always seems to have the prettiest houses for sale, maybe because the sellers are drawn to her savvy style, who knows, but I'm always drawn to her open houses! She's been in the business of matching the perfect home with the perfect buyer for 34 years and she's terrific at it! To me finding the right home is an emotional experience, one that you'll remember forever.
