Barbara wrote to me last week about her bathroom dilemma, she wrote...
"I am having a problem with deciding on what I can do with my bathroom, its the guest bathroom and I do have the color down. black/silver/and red how to put that together I am lost....any ideas? I need everything from towels to accessories..."
My Diva reply:
Hi Barbara,
"Thanks for visiting my website. I'm so happy to help you with your bathroom. I have a few questions for you...you wrote you had a color scheme of black, silver and red. Those colors work so well together. Do you have a style in mind? Those colors would work well for a contemporary space but can also fit well in a more traditional setting depending on the application.
Is there tile in your bathroom that you will be keeping and if so what color is it? What color are the fixtures? What is the overall style of your home? I would love to see some pics to really be able to help you. You can send them here http://www.interior-decorating-diva.com/Interiordecoratingforum.html but without pics here are some general ideas...I just did a great wall paper look stencil(which I found at Michael's Craft Store) using gold metallic glaze on a turquoise wall and it looked like wall paper, came out great!. You can do the same only I would do a silver paint on your walls and do a silver glaze stencil over it which will make it look like damask wallpaper (or even white on silver would look good). Then you can add some black and white towels with a red smaller towel overlay and maybe an antique mirror with some scroll-work on it and paint it a shiny red or black, then choose black and red accessories.
To see the finished stencil project I did sign up for my ezine http;//www.interior-decorating-diva.com/decorating-ezine-promo.html and RSS where I'll be posting it soon, but hurry, this month's ezine will be going out soon and I'll need to add you to the mailing list. Thanks again for writing, I'm going to add your question to my site. Hope to hear from you soon!"
